Slumdog Millionaire raises controversies

If you have already watched the movie Slumdog Millionaire, you might already know what the issue is. It tells the story of a young man named Jamal Malik from the slums of Mumbai who appears on a game show. The name of the movie itself raised a controversy as many people felt offended by the usage of the word dog to refer poor people. In this movie, Lord Rama and Indian culture are shown in a controversial manner. The Hindu Janajagruthi Samithi is conducting a signature drive to protest against the movie. How to do Pradakshinam (circumambulation) in a temple

All the heavenly bodies rotate on its axis as well as circumambulates around other objects like earth around the sun. Namakarana - Naming ceremony

Naming a baby is a religious ceremony for the Hindus. In Kerala, usually a baby boy is named on the 27th day after birth and a girl is named on the 28th day after birth. The right day for the ceremony is defined by Gruhyasutras and there are different opinions for the same.
